Because Parents Don't Live Forever

Everyone deserves to choose their home and the care they receive. Special Needs Properties leverages the power of home ownership to ensure great lifelong caregiving for adults in California with special needs.

Are you an adult with special needs who would like to live alone? We have a 1-bedroom condo in Concord, walking distance to cafes, grocery stores and BART.

We also have a Sunnyvale 3-bedroom condo, well located between the two Apple campuses, walking distance to Caltrain, cafes, grocery and restaurants.

Our flagship home in Discovery Bay is also available. It's a large 4-5 bedroom house in a gated community. Peaceful walks by the delta.

Our Team.

Catherine is an autism mom. She has been advocating for her adult son his whole life. She believes adults like her son deserve to choose where they live and the care they receive. Instead of feeling "lucky" to be off a waiting list for a group home they don't even like. She has volunteered and advocated in this space--this intersection of special needs housing and caregiving--since 2015. And knows how best to leverage the Lanterman Act in California so her son and others will have a great life, with secure housing and caregiving, long after parents pass away.

Joyce has been a Special Education Specialist and Life Skills Teacher for over 20 years. She has kept in touch with many former students who are now adults. Her passion for teaching students with special needs has blossomed into a joy and purpose to help them have meaningful adult lives, to be the best they can be, and to share their unique gifts with society. She is also the director of SpecialNeedsLiving.org.
